![]() ![]() ![]() Second, we outreach locally with nationally recognized harm reduction methods including but not limited to distribution of prophylaxis to reduce the spread of communicable diseases and naloxone opioid overdose reversal medication, provide training and tools to prevent overdose, and connect our clients with recovery services. Our target clients have no current support system or are returning to family at or below 100% of the poverty level. We tailor each experience to the individual as needed utilizing consistent feedback from those whom we serve throughout the state of Florida. Also including career preparation and a Fresh Start package of hygiene products, clothing and shoes, essential resource listings, and one month smart phone service/transportation/groceries, non-perishable food donations. We accomplish this through peer mentorship (Buddy System), individualized training in soft skills including, but not limited to banking, credit, goal setting, family reunification, cooking, and budgeting. First, we enhance public safety via reduced recidivism through support of the transition process post incarceration. Upon donation of the structure to us to use as a “living classroom” in our training, which generates tax advantages for the property owner, we remove all reusable and recyclable elements through deconstruction for waste diversion and reuse by consumers.īuilding upon this exciting foundation, Second Chance is positioned better than ever to expand even more in the days ahead.
